The FLIPHY symposium addresses all aspects of aerodynamics relevant to aircrafts and UAVs, missiles and projectiles, launchers, and re-entry vehicles. Aero-acoustics will be also examined for aeronautical applications with a special focus on landing and take-off flight phases of aircraft. Topics will deal with both external and internal flows since aerodynamics and aero-acoustics are the main concern of the symposium. Papers will preferentially address at least one of the following three approaches: physical understanding, theoretical analysis, and/or the development of control technologies and control methodologies applied to aeronautical or space flows.
Authors are encouraged to submit papers in the fields of:

The STRMAT symposium covers improvements introduced in aerospace structures and engines through innovative materials, processing technologies, structural design and analysis. Massive introduction of fiber-reinforced organic composites has become a reality and the introduction of other composites is progressing in the engines.

The PROPHY symposium will cover all aspects of air-breathing and space propulsion, spanning from new developments in engines and propellants to modelling and testing. Topics range from basic research and development to applied studies, using experimental, theoretical and/ or advanced numerical methods, with a special focus on fundamental physical understanding.
Papers are solicited in the fields of:

The REUSSA symposium is for all stakeholders involved in the research and development of reusable launch systems. It will review the status of the different activities and projects.

- reusability strategies,
- space access policy,
- synergies with aeronautics,
- development roadmaps,

This symposium SUSTSP addresses space sustainability & logistics, integrating several topics to discuss future space. Logistics is the management of the flow of things (resources, people, data…) from a point of origin to a point of consumption.
Papers are solicited in the fields of:
- Eco-design and life cycle engineering, life cycle cost & value;
- flow & network logistics models;
- on-orbit refueling & servicing, mainly cryotechnic, including demonstrations;
- constellation deployment and on-orbit assembly;
- space supply chain, transportation modelling and associated operations research,
- selected launcher and space transport vehicles at system-level, and new technologies or orbits with significant logistics demands,
- space debris & space situational awareness, covering all technical and scientific aspects, observations and measurements, modelling and risk analysis, re-entry, protection, mitigation and remediation, space surveillance and traffic management.
Submitted abstracts should address issues with particular implications on sustainability or deep & broad impact on logistics systems.
Although very relevant to “sustainable space logistics”, topics such as ISRU technologies for the Moon, Mars, or small bodies (e.g. covering the extraction of water or metallic material) will be addressed in the ISRU Symposium.

The main objective of the space exploration symposium SPEXPL is to prepare for human and robotic exploration of destinations where humans may someday live and work. Enabling humans to explore the surface of Moon, Mars or asteroids in a sustainable, affordable, and productive manner is a long-term goal that we will use to shape our near-term activities.
The Space Exploration symposium will focus on scientific research, technologies and technical activities in relation with the EUCASS main symposium.
The major topics will cover:
- Missions, supporting technologies such as

- space Power and Energy,
- materials, Manufacturing and Architecture,
- thermal Management Systems.
In particular, the In-Situ-Resource-Utilization ISRU part will cover:

This symposium SIMPHY will welcome communications about Multi-Physics simulations:
- Computational Solid Mechanics (CSM) including structure & mechanisms Finite Element Method (FEM) analysis,
- rotor dynamics,
- acoustics and multibody systems simulation,
- Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) in continuous regime and rarefied atmosphere,
- convective, radiative and conductive thermal analyses,
- electromagnetism,
- associated Multi-Physics couplings, including structural and multi-disciplinary optimisation.
All the modelling methodologies will be covered from system engineering to advanced 3D simulation, with High Performance Computing and Model Order Reduction.
In terms of aerospace industrial application domains, targets are the use of advanced simulation for:
- The design and qualification of spacecraft (launchers, satellites, space stations, space telescopes, …),
- the certification of aircrafts (airframes, aeroengines, helicopters, …) and strategic vehicles.
New expanding simulation domains are also welcome, like:

This symposium (FLOCON) corresponds to the workshop EUCASS 2020 which could not be held because of the Covid-19 crisis (https://lmfl.cnrs.fr/workshop/eucass/).
Active Flow Control (AFC) has been studied for years by countless research teams. It actually is a multidisciplinary domain covering fluid mechanics, plasma physics and automated control. Progress in industrial application of AFC will benefit from:
- Tighter cooperation between the academic and the engineering communities,
- taking into account the constraints of vehicle design, certification and redundancy at the earliest possible stage.
This workshop aims to bring together the academic and industrial communities. Research scientists and engineers involved in AFC development and in its implementation in future aircraft design are encouraged to attend and share their expertise.
Contributions covering the following aspects of AFC are welcome:
- Flow control challenges: separation and wake control, laminar/turbulent transition, skin friction and control of compressible flows,
- control/command strategies for flow control: new mathematical approaches, artificial intelligence and robust control,
- flow control technologies: mechanical actuators, dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasmas, sensors and non-intrusive measurement techniques,
- flow control implementation: review of state of the art in industry, needs and gaps, and certification aspects.
We at EUCASS are keenly aware of the value of this gathering and anticipate very fecund outcomes will emerge from the workshop.

The main objectives of the NEWSPA symposium is to discuss the technical options enabling the development of future operations in space. The symposium will range across topics associated with new space transportation services based on any launch system, including not only the European Ariane 6, Vega C and their evolutions, but also worldwide solutions, including large scale constellations ad the cooperation of space-systems.
Papers are solicited in the domains of:
- New launch systems under development worldwide, from micro (e.g. new initiatives), to small (e.g. Vega C class) and big launchers (e.g. Ariane 6 class),
- new space transportation elements under development worldwide for payloads requiring orbital transfer, from kick-stages to space-tugs for new in-orbit operations and services,
- new space transportation services worldwide for small spacecraft, including ride-shares, piggy-back and motorised dispenser solutions, as well as recoverable orbital payloads (e.g. Space Rider, its evolutions and its competitors),
- associated enabling technologies,
- enabling concepts and technologies for small satellite constellations,
- services and operations associated with large constellations and their deployment.

The year 2020 will be a historic turning point for aeronautics. After a century of constant progress and expansion, the sector is facing a fundamental challenge, both in its civil and military aspects.
The climate emergency, already taken into account in progresses for motorization and search for new sources of energy, is now exerting an increasingly strong pressure, supported by the legitimate concerns of the populations and States. The health crisis is now questioning a world where the transport of freight or passengers was central. New challenges for Defense appear such as hypervelocity. Aeronautics must therefore revisit its technologies, its objectives but also its societal role. Because the actual concepts have been optimized up to its limits, an increase in upstream research devoted to radical ruptures is necessary, both in terms of propulsion, aircraft concepts, and news uses.
EUCASS-3AF 2021 offers, within it, a multi-disciplinary workshop FUTURE to take stock of innovative ideas and technically grounded proposals for the future.

This symposium deals with the possible civil applications of UAVFUT in the future and the specific solutions required for these applications. In recent years, the number of possibilities offered by UAVs has quickly risen, because of their capability to offer more reliable, safer, or faster solutions. At the same time, technical challenges have been encountered, which form as many hurdles on the way towards an even larger expansion of these applications. In this symposium, these applications will be addressed, together with the technical challenges and solutions proposed to increase the UAVs capabilities.
